UV Coating Lines

A UV coating line cures the coating with ultraviolet light seconds after spraying, so parts leave the line ready to handle. Lynvex UV lines combine dust removal, spraying, levelling and UV curing sections sized to your parts and takt time.

How a UV coating line is configured

The standard sequence is loading, electrostatic dust removal, spray coating, levelling (flash-off so the film flows smooth), UV curing and unloading. Plastic parts are the most common application: phone and appliance housings, cosmetic packaging and similar moulded parts that need a hard, glossy UV finish. Line length and conveyor width follow from your largest part and your takt time, not from a fixed catalogue layout.

When UV beats conventional drying

UV curing removes the long drying tunnel and the waiting time that goes with it, and the cured film is hard immediately. It suits high-volume plastic parts with UV-curable coatings. It does not suit every coating: if your paint system is a conventional solvent or water-based paint, a drying line is the right tool instead. Tell us the coating system you run and we will confirm which route fits.

Application scope

UV coating serves parts that need a hard, glossy, fast-cured finish: phone and appliance housings, cosmetic and personal-care packaging, plastic trim and similar moulded components. Because the film cures in seconds, UV lines suit high volumes and short lead times, and they remove the work-in-progress that conventional drying accumulates between spraying and packing.

The trade-off is discipline: UV coatings are a matched system of coating, lamp output and line speed. Changing coating supplier or colour can change the curing window, so the line's lamp section and speed range are specified with headroom for the coatings you name at inquiry stage.

Process control points

Three points decide UV finish quality. Dust control before spraying, because a fast-cured glossy film displays every particle. Levelling time, because the film must flow before the lamps freeze it. And lamp condition, because UV output falls with lamp age long before a lamp fails — output checks belong in the maintenance routine, and spare lamps in the commissioning stock list.

What to send for a configured quotation

  • Part drawings or photos, with the largest part size (L x W x H)
  • Coating type and finish requirements (colour, gloss, film thickness if specified)
  • Required output: parts per hour or per shift, and working hours per day
  • Destination country and local power supply (voltage / frequency)
  • Workshop space available for the machine or line, if a full line is planned

Buyer questions

Can a UV section be added to an existing spray line?

Often yes: a UV curing section can follow an existing spray section if conveyor speed and space allow. Send your current line layout and speeds.

What line speed can I run?

Line speed is set by the coating's curing window and your takt target. Share both and we will size the lamp section accordingly.

Not sure which configuration fits?

Send your part drawings, part size and output target. We will confirm the machine or line configuration and reply with a quotation.
