Conformal Coating & Dispensing Machines

Conformal coating protects printed circuit boards from moisture and dust; dispensing applies adhesives and sealants at precise points. Lynvex coating and dispensing machines cover selective conformal coating for PCB production and precision glue dispensing for electronics assembly.

Choosing a conformal coating machine for PCB production

The decision points are board size, which areas must be coated or kept out, valve type (spray, needle, film coating) and the accuracy your coating pattern needs. Selective coating machines coat only programmed areas, which removes masking and suits most modern boards. The two machine types in this family are compared below in general terms; the dispensing model's parameters are listed on its detail page.

What to send for a coating configuration

Board dimensions, a photo or drawing of the coating areas, the coating material you run and your boards-per-hour target are enough to confirm a configuration. If you are replacing manual spraying, say so: the usual gains are repeatability and the removal of masking labour, and the configuration should be sized to prove them.

Application scope

Coating and dispensing machines serve electronics production: protective conformal coating for boards that face humidity, dust or condensation, and precise adhesive or sealant application for assembly. Typical boards include power supplies, control units, lighting drivers, automotive electronics and industrial controllers — products whose field failures often trace back to unprotected boards.

The production gain over manual work is repeatability: the same coating pattern, at the same film build, on every board, with keep-out areas respected by program rather than by masking tape and operator attention.

Process control points

Coating quality is set by material handling as much as by the machine: viscosity changes with temperature, so material conditioning and a consistent shop temperature matter. Valve cleaning intervals follow the material's pot life. And the board's coating pattern should be frozen before configuration — late pattern changes are the commonest cause of rework in coating projects.

What to send for a configured quotation

  • Part drawings or photos, with the largest part size (L x W x H)
  • Coating type and finish requirements (colour, gloss, film thickness if specified)
  • Required output: parts per hour or per shift, and working hours per day
  • Destination country and local power supply (voltage / frequency)
  • Workshop space available for the machine or line, if a full line is planned

Buyer questions

Selective or full coating?

Selective coating is the default recommendation when keep-out areas exist. The selective coating guide in our blog compares the two in detail.

Can one machine coat and dispense?

Duties differ in valve and motion control. Tell us both jobs and we will confirm whether one platform covers them or two machines are the honest answer.

Not sure which configuration fits?

Send your part drawings, part size and output target. We will confirm the machine or line configuration and reply with a quotation.
